First, on the matter of eye disease, how much do you know?
1, the elderly appear presbyopia
Presbyopia refers to people to a certain age, the eye lens tissue density increases, the elasticity decreases, the ciliary muscle contraction function decreases, and gradually appeared to regulate the power to decline, so as to appear myopia difficulties.
Presbyopia mostly appears after the age of 40, with increased density of the lens and decreased eye regulation. Once presbyopia develops, it often has an impact on work, study and life. Medical treatment is mostly recommended, such as wearing convex lenses after medical optometry; presbyopic laser treatment; removal of the natural lens and implantation of a multifocal IOL.
2、Astigmatism which is harder to prevent than myopia
Astigmatism is one kind of refractive error, which can exist alone or in combination with hyperopia or myopia, causing vision loss and visual fatigue.
The refractive system of the eye is supposed to be a sphere, and the refractive force on each ‘meridian’ of the sphere is different, forming a focal point that becomes a focal line, which is astigmatism. Astigmatism is universal, most of the birth will have ‘astigmatism’, only with the development of the sphere, astigmatism gradually reduced.
3.Colour blindness, where is it?
The world of colour blindness is not all black and white, and the more common ones in life are red blindness and green blindness.
The former can not distinguish red, will see green as yellow, purple as blue; the latter can not distinguish green, will see green as grey or dark black. Those who cannot distinguish colours are totally colour blind and the whole world is grey.
There are two types of colour blindness, congenital and acquired. Congenital colour blindness is a recessive disease with X chromosome, while acquired colour blindness is caused by diseases of the fundus of the eye, such as retinal detachment or age-related macular degeneration.
Second, 3 eye test chart, self-test eye health
Whether your eyes are healthy or not can be initially judged by some simple pictures:
Presbyopia
If you feel clear in the red part on the left: it is likely to be myopia!
If you feel the green part of the right side is clear: probably presbyopia.
If the left side is as clear as the right side: congratulations, your vision is normal!
Astigmatism
Place the chart at a distance of 30 cm from the eye level with clear and even light;
Observe the chart with the bare eye, cover one eye with the hand and gaze at the chart with the test eye;
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other eye.
If you see A: Congratulations, no astigmatism!
If you see a B or C: you probably have astigmatism!
red-green colour blindness
If you see a deer, you’re probably red-green colour blind.
If the animal you see is a cow, congratulations, you have normal vision!
Most eye problems are related to improper use of eyes, so you should pay attention to the time you use your eyes in your daily life, do not stare at the screen for a long time; ensure the correct posture and gaze distance, take a 15-minute break for every 1~2 hours of work, and close your eyes or look away from the screen.
When operating a computer, you should maintain a distance of more than 60cm; too much or too little light in the environment, the office and home should have appropriate light, not too dark or too bright.
Of course, if you encounter eye problems, it is best to go to a professional hospital for consultation and treatment.
